W. R. Grace & Co. started doing business in Malaysia in 1973, with the incorporation of W. R. Grace (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. During the early years, the company was involved in marketing and selling chemical additives for the construction and container industries, as well as building materials.
In 1992, the company moved to its current premises in Cheras Jaya, on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, and started manufacturing (in addition to selling) chemical additives for the construction and container industries. Grace’s products have been used in the construction of such famous Malaysian structures as the Petronas Twin Towers.
Currently, 20 employees work in the Cheras Jaya facility. Nearly all the chemical addi-tives they produce are destined for the domestic market.
